It’s not easy to be a world famous plus-size model. Ashley Graham knows life can be very busy going to photo shoots and being brand ambassador for top brands.
The twenty-eight-year-old beauty had gone from walking runway shows at New York Fashion Week to starring in the new lingerie ads for Canadian store Addition Elle.
The plus-size retailer has helped Ashley become the most famous plus-size model. In these photos, she is modeling the 2016 lingerie collection, and boy, does she look good in these images. The collection is described as being the embodiment of “femininity while maintaining the ideal fit and comfort of your everyday go-to pieces.” A bra and panty set would set you back $60 dollars.
Ashley says this is a collection for every woman. She believes sexy is a state of mind and you can be beautiful at any size. Addition Elle VP Marketing Roslyn Griner says, “Ashley Graham Essentials take the everyday comfort and fit into the sexy zone proving essential is anything but basic.”
Ashley’s collection was photographed by Shayne Laverdière. You can see the model posing in her designs in a subway carriage.
One photo shows her in a body suit with passengers in the background. Another one shows her leaning against the subway car in navy bra and underwear with a fur coat around her.
Her line will be released in July. It features the same lace and curve-hugging details that made her previous collaborations with the brand a success.
She explained her collection, saying, “My tenth collection with Addition Elle is one of my favorites to date. The styles have really evolved with my career, and me and we’re able to push the boundaries a bit more with the success of each collection.”
She adds, “We thoughtfully designed this collection so our customers can incorporate the lingerie into their outfits, not just wear them underneath. I also never thought I’d be on the subway in my underwear!”
After appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated, the plus-size model has had a busy work schedule. Vogue.com followed her for thirty-six hours, and you can see just how packed her schedule is.
The description of the video says, “In a whirlwind weekend, Ashley Graham made her way from a fitting with Michael Kors in New York City to Las Vegas to host the Miss USA pageant (in front of an audience of hundreds of thousands), before jetting back home again to attend the CFDA Awards.”
That’s just a typical day in the life of Ashley Graham, rising plus-size superstar.
The video starts off with Ashley in bed saying she just got off a flight, but she has no time to rest because she is a supermodel with commitments.
She is seen taking a car through the streets of New York while she talks on the phone to prepare herself for her job hosting for Miss USA. Then there is a change of scene and they are in Las Vegas with Ashley and her glam squad.
The video follows her as she gets ready to host. You get a little look at the behind the scenes of the pageant. At one point, Ashley says to the camera, “Everything that I do is about size, and I’m really excited for the day that nothing has to be about size anymore.”
Then after hosting the show, Ashley is back on a plane to go back to New York City. She meets with designer Michael Kors for a fitting before the CFDA Awards, and the designer talks of his plan to give her a “sleek, chic, New York sexy” kind of look.
The designer and model are scene having fun with Ashley showing off a few dance moves. Then you see her in a dress on the red carpet.
She told the reporter that the best part of her fame has been the reaction to her Sports Illustrated cover. Ashley explains, “All of the e-mails and comments from young girls and older women who say ‘thank you.’ They were like me, they never had a role model growing up that looked like them.”
