Last month, Seana Sweeney stood out from 2,000 other women and was named the winner of Curvy Kate’s Star in a Bra competition. As the new face of the lingerie brand, she got to fly to London to star in the latest Curvy Kate fashion shoot plus a spending money. Also part of her prize is a modeling contract with Bridge Models.
The 31-year-old gorgeous mom, who wears a 30FF bra, was ecstatic about her win. She said she did not expect it as all the girls were equally beautiful. Nevertheless, she is excited to see what’s in store for her after winning the competition.
The size 14 receptionist remembered the pain she went through because of her “healthier” size. She was jeered in the streets and called thunder thighs by some men because everything about her was big. It was a long time before she learned to love her body.
When Seana was 23, she unexpectedly got pregnant with her son Dru, who is eight now.
Ten months after giving birth, her being a single mom took a toll on her and she acquired acute pneumonia and septicaemia and was hospitalized. All the weight she wanted to lose when she was younger went to the drain over the night. From 11 st, she was down to 9 st. She thought she would look great now that she’s slimmer, but it was the opposite. She looked awful.
That’s when she realized that weight doesn’t matter, what’s important is that she’s healthy so she can be a great mom to her little boy.
Seana is now happy with her partner of two years, 35-year-old Jon Boland, a car dealer. John is just perfect for them as he loves her and he treats her son as his own. Though he adores her curves, she’s confident of her body enough to not depend on other people’s approval to feel great.
Curvy Kate is known for their gorgeous diverse campaign, diverting from the industry’s trend of using professional models. So instead they created this open-to-all-girls competition in which the winner will get a modeling contract. This is in support for women of different body size.
A spokesperson for Bridge Models said, “We are thrilled to have Seana as our winner and an official Bridge girl! We can’t wait to get started and see what the next year has in store for her. Watch this space!”
