High-fashion dresses don’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Sometimes creating haute couture could be a simple matter of being creative and having something fishy on your mind. Thai plus-size model Sine Benjaphorn and a designer took inspiration from a common snack. The result was a replica of a high-fashion look that was created by sewing bags of prawn crackers together.

Benjaphorn’s gown was inspired by the one worn by British-Thai actress Araya “Chompoo” Hargate for an event during the Cannes Film Festival. Her replica dress looks pretty good in the photos.
Speaking of the dress, Benjaphorn told reporters, “When I saw Chompoo’s dress, I immediately thought of my mum’s crackers. My mum has a street food stall selling snacks like this and it reminded me of them.”
The plus-size model shared a side-by-side comparison photo on her Facebook page. She often shares her funny replicas of these high-end looks. In less than 24 hours, the image went viral, according to Yahoo. It garnered over 3,000 Likes in less than 24 hours.
The model says she has fun making these funny recreations because as she puts it, “I’m never going to be a Hollywood celebrity so the nearest thing I can do is imitate them.”
A dress made of snacks? That sounds like heaven for most women on the go. Haute couture could learn a few things from clothing store owner Benjaphorn when it comes to making dresses that are functional and fashionable.
