World-renowned tennis player Venus Williams is making everybody proud again; only this time, it isn’t about sports but fashion.
Just like her sister Serena, Venus Williams has been an inspiration for women around the world who want to break into the world of sports. Winning one grand slam after another, Williams wants women to know that the industry isn’t just for men. When she’s not on the field doing serves, though, she is busy creating stunning pieces for her activewear line, EleVen.
Now before she sets off to compete in the US Open, the gorgeous the 38-year-old is launching a new project for her fashion label, a move that has been creating buzz among women, especially the curvy ones.
Venus Williams Introduces Plus-Size Collection for Activewear Line
In partnership with Dia&Co, the world’s biggest plus-size clothing and personal styling service for women, Venus Williams is launching a plus-size collection for larger gals.
As to why she chose to expand her fashion label into plus-size, Williams said in a press release, “Representation matters. I wanted this collection to connect with women no matter their shape or size.”
Wlliamd also shared why she chose to tap Dia&Co, saying, “Dia&Co was the only choice for this. I love what they’re doing for women. Their brand identity is all about expression, defining your own rules, having fun while doing it. That’s the core of my brand too. I love that we had the chance to bring EleVen to all women with this partnership.”
The plus-size collection features jackets, pants, and tanks. And while before EleVen only has sizes up to XL, the collection will now have sizes 0X to 3X. The pieces are also very affordable, with prices ranging from $55 to $88.
Marita Ikonen, director of design at Dia&Co, said that what the collection wants women to know is that “you can be any size and you can still feel athletic, without thinking [about] size as a restriction.”
